US Rt. 271 and F. M. 2648 N of Paris. Pat Mayse Lake East Quadrangle. Camp Maxey Training Site (Texas Army National Guard). Elev. 510 ft.

Habitat and Description: Occasional in post oak woodland on +/- level upland. Geology: Bonham Marl (Cretaceous). Soils: deep, somewhat poorly drained, slightly acid, loamy Vertic Paleudalfs (Annona Series). Associates include Acacia hirta, Antennaria fallax, Aster patens, Baptisia nuttalliana, Carex cherokeensis, Desmodium sp., Dichanthelium spp., Eryngium yuccifolium, Helianthus hirsutus, Lespedeza procumbens, Monarda russeliana, Penstemon laxiflorus, Pycnanthemum tenuifolium, Tridens flavus, Vernonia texana, Ascyrum hyperiocoides, Bumelia lanuginosa, Crataegus sp., Fraxinus americana, Ilex sp., Quercus stellata, Rhus toxicodendron, Ulmus alata.
