Habitat and Description: Rare in shallow moist sand over claypan, in shade of Quercus stellata and Ulmus alata in seasonally inundated swamp forest. Associates include Agrostis perennans, Persicaria punctata, Eupatorium serotinum, Pycnanthemum tenuifolium, Leersia virginica, L. oryzoides, Lycopus sp., Juncus coriaceus, Panicum anceps, Aster subulatus, Commelina virginica.
