Habitat and Description: Occasional on dry, partially shaded igneous rock outcrops in bottom of narrow S-draining wooded canyon. Associates include Acer grandidentatum, Bommeria hispida, Bouteloua curtipendula, Bouvardia ternifolia, Cercocarpus montanus, Croton fruticulosus, Desmodium psilophyllum, Fendlera rupicola, Galium wrightii, Hedyotis nigricans, Juniperus deppeana, Lonicera albiflora, Morus microphylla, Muhlenbergia emersleyi, Phacelia rupestris, Philadelphus sp., Pinus cembroides, Prunus serotina, Quercus emoryi, Quercus grisea, Rhus aromatica, Schizachyrium sanguineum var. hirtifolium, Senecio millelobatus, Silene laciniata, Vitis arizonica.
