Habitat and Description: Perennial; stems few from crown; rare in shallow clay on unshaded roadside. Surrounding vegetation mostly shrub-invaded live oak savannah. Associates include Hermannia texana, Acalypha hederacea, Euphorbia acuta, Krameria lanceolata, Bouteloua curtipendula, Aristida spp., Zexmenia hispida, Schrankia roemeriana.
