Locality: United States, Texas, Presidio, Ca. 2.1 airmiles N of house complex, NW of Marfa. Hip-O Ranch Preserve. Smith Hills Quadrangle. Elev. 5030 - 5040 ft.
Habitat and Description: Petals yellow; occasional in shortgrass grassland dotted with Nolina texana, on low gravelly stony igneous ridge just NW of a metal tank near headwaters of Fourmile Draw. Associates include Bouteloua sp., Calylophus hartwegii, Chaetopappa ericoides, Condalia ericoides, Croton pottsii, Cryptantha sp., Dalea pogonathera, Dyschoriste decumbens, Dyssodia acerosa, Ephedra sp., Gaura coccinea, Krameria ramosissima, Melampodium leucanthum, Oenothera brachycarpa, Penstemon fendleri, Simsia calva, Thelesperma ambiguum.
