Habitat and Description: Locally dominant in shallow swale-like drainage ditch in deep moderately well drained noncalcareous sand over Carrizo Sand, unshaded highway right-of-way. Assc. include Acalypha radians, Aristida longespica var. geniculata, Cenchrus incertus, Chloris cucullata, Croton capitatus, Diodia teres, Elyonurus tripsacoides, Eragrostis secundiflora, Eupatorium compositifolium, Euphorbia cordifolia, Froelichia floridana, Gaillardia aestivalis var. aestivalis, Gaura villosa ssp. parksii, Helianthus debilis, Heterotheca subaxillaris, Polypremum procumbens, Rhynchosia americana, Schizachyrium scoparium, Sida lindheimeri.
