Habitat and Description: Occasional in openings in blackbrush-dominated thorn shrubland on sandy clay soils (mapped as Campellton loam) on low hilltop underlain by Yegua Formation (Eocene). Woody assc. include Acacia rigidula, A. schaffneri, Berberis trifoliolata, Castela erecta, Celtis pallida, Condalia hookeri, Diospyros texana, Echinocactus texensis, Forestiera angustifolia, Guaiacum angustifolium, Lycium berlandieri, Opuntia leptocaulis O. lindheimeri, Schaefferia cuneifolia, Xylothamia palmeri, Yucca treculeana, Ziziphus obtusifolius.
