Habitat and Description: Common, one of the dominant trees/tall shrubs in strip of mesquite-lotebush-palm brush on slope and upland. Associates include Celtis laevigata, C. pallida, Cocculus diversifolius, Condalia hookeri, Ehretia anacua, Eupatorium odoratum, Heliotropium angiospermum, Leucaena pulverulenta, Opuntia lindheimeri, Phaulothamnus spinescens, Pithecellobium ebano, Rivina humilis, Sabal mexicana, Serjania brachycarpa, Zanthoxylum fagara and Ziziphus obtusifolius.
