Habitat and Description: Local in silty alluvial soil on bank of intermittent stream in bottom of broad, shallow valley between moderately steep limestone slopes, in shade of cedar elm woodland with dense Ashe juniper understory. Associates include Aster texanus, Carex bulbostyis, C. Planostachys, Rhamnus caroliniana, Croton fruticulosus, Garrya lindheimeria, Ilex decidua, Ilex vomitoria, and Cornus drummondii.
