Habitat and Description: Common in live oak-hackberry woodland on sandy loam on gentle slope. Associates include Ampelopsis arborea, Campsis radicans, Carex cherokeensis, Carex tetrastachya, Carya illnoinensis, Celtis reticulata, Ehretia anacua, Elymus virginicus, Galium aparine, Ilex vomitoria, Malvaviscus drummondii, Myosotis macrosperma, Nemophila phacelioides, Onosmodium bejariense, Oplismenus hirtellus, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Paspalum langei, Phacelia laxa, Quercus virginiana, Sabal minor, Salvia coccinea, Sanicula canadensis, Sapindus saponaria, Sideroxylon lanuginosum, Smilax bona-nox, Ulmus americana, Ulmus crassifolia, and Verbesia virginica.
