Habitat and Description: Rare in diverse, late successional recently ungrazed mid-to tallgrass grassland grassland on deep loose sand of South Texas sand sheet. Grass dominants include Schizachyrium scoparium, Paspalum plicatulum, Paspalum monostachyum, Elyonurus tripsacoides. Other components include Acalypha radians, Aeschynomene viscidula, Aristida longespica, Bouteloua hirsuta, Cenchrus spinifex, Chamaecrista fasciculata, Chloris cucullata, Croton argyranthemus, Croton capitatus, Croton glandulosus, Croton parksii, Digitaria texana, Diodia teres, Eragrostis sessilispica, Eriogonum multiflorum, Evolvulus alsinoides, Froelichia floridana, Gaillardia aestivalis, Galactia canescens, Helianthus praecox ssp. runyonii, Heliotropium texanum, Oxalis berlandieri, Palafoxia texana, Phyllanthus abnormalis, Rhynchosia americana, Stemodia tomentosa, and Stillingia sylvatica.
