Habitat and Description: Locally frequent in loose hummocky sand in opening in live oak woodland on moderate upper slope. Associates include Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Astragalus nuttallianus, Callirhoe involucrata, Callirhoe leiocarpa, Chloris cucullata, Cnidoscolus texanus, Hymenopappus artemisiifolius, Lantana urticoides, Limnodea arkansana, Lupinus subcarnosus, Pediomelum rhombifolium, Phlox drummondii, Rhynchosia americana, Scutellaria sp., and Silene antirrhina.
