Habitat and Description: Locally common in tallgrass grassland on fairly well drained deep loose sand on moderate slope. Associates include Andropogon gerardii, Bouteloua curtipendula, Bouteloua hirsuta, Cenchrus spinifex, Chamaecrista fasciculata, Cnidoscolus texanus, Commelina erecta, Croton capitatus, Croton parksii, Digitaria texana, Helianthus debilis, Heterotheca subaxillaris, Opuntia lindheimeri, Palafoxia sp., Panicum capillarioides, Prosopis glandulosa, and Rhynchosia americana.
