Habitat and Description: Apparently rare on ranch, noted only in pan-like sparingly vegetated tight fine sandy loam or loamy sand in coastal prairie pasture otherwise dominated by Paspalum plicatulum, on +/- level topography underlain by Goliad Formation. Associates include Chloris latisquamea, Coreopsis nuecensoides, Cyperus squarrosus, Ditaxis humilis, Eragrostis secundiflora, Eragrostis sessilispica, Galactia marginalis, Gaura brachycarpa, Gomphrena nealleyi, Helenium amarum, Krigia oppositifolia, Mecardonia procumbens, Opuntia lindheimeri, Opuntia macrorhiza, Plantago aristata, Polypremum procumbens, Portulaca pilosa, Portulaca umbraticola, Richardia tricocca, Sida ciliaris, Talinum parviflorum, and Xanthisma texanum.
