Habitat and Description: Trunk gnarly-twisted. Berries blue-glaucous, common in juniper-oak-delea shrubland on shallow sandy soils. Associates include Bouteloua curtipendula, B. hirsuta, Dalea aurea, D. candida, D. formosa, Mirabilis linearis, Opuntia polyacantha, Quercus mohriana, Yucca angustifolia, and Zinnia grandiflora.
