Habitat and Description: Rare in region but locally frequent on curious patch of white sugar sand on level upland underlain by Goliad Formation. In highway clearing through live oak woodland. Associates include Acalypha radians, Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Argythamnia pilosissima, Asclepias tuberosa, Brazoria truncata, Cnidoscolus texanus, Helianthus debilis, Heliotropium texanum, Hymenopappus artemisiifolius, Oenothera heterophylla, Phlox drummondii var. wilcoxiana, Polanisia erosa, Rhynchosia americana, Stylisma pickeringii, and Tetragonatheca texana.
