Habitat and Description: Rare in heavily grazed pasture dominated by Spartina spartinae and small Acacia smallii, on at least somewhat saline alluvial clays. Associates include Aster subulatus, Atriplex spp., Cyperus articulatus, C. ochrarcous, Grindelia microcephala, Iva annua, Lycium carolinianum, Marsilea macropoda, Melochia pyramidata, Panicum obtusum, Phyllanthus pudens, and Prosopis glandulosa.
