Habitat and Description: Rare in rather loose fine sand or coarse silty alluvium in open part of pecan woodland on high terrace. Woody associates include Acacia smallii, Acer negundo, Ampelopsis arborea, Campsis radicans, Carya illinoinensis, Cetlis laevigata, Ehretia anacua, Fraxinus pensylvanica, Maclura pomifera, Parthenocissus quinquefolia, Platanus occidentalis, Salix nigra, Sapium sebiferum, Sideroxylon lanuginosum, Smilax bona-nox, Toxicodendron radicans, Ulmus americana, U. crassifolia and Vitis mustangensis.
