Habitat and Description: Common in heavily grazed gas pipeline clearing through mesquite-pricklypear shrubland on somewhat saline clay on slight rise between two fingers of succulent-dominated salt marsh on occasionally inundated heavier clay. Associates include Atriplex acanthocarpa, Buchloe dactyloides, Echinocactus texensis, Isocoma drummondii, Monanthochloe littoralis, Opuntia lindheimeri, Prosopis glandulosa, Rayjacksonia phyllocephala, and Sporobolus pyramidatus.
