Habitat and Description: Occasional in somewhat open mesquite woodland in cattle pasture on rather tight sandy soils of claypan savanna on +/- level upland underlain by Lissie Formation. Trees mostly young, shrub layer absent. Gutierrezia texana visual dominant in ground layer. Assocates include Buchloe dactyloides, Chloris verticillata, Commelina erecta, Desmanthus virgatus, Gomphrena nealleyi, Malvastrum coromandelianum, Mecardonia procumbens, Opuntia lindheimeri, Prosopis glandulosa, Ruellia nudiflora, Schedonnardus paniculatus, Sida ciliaris, and Tridens albescens.
