Habitat and Description: Colony-forming, intricately-branched thornless shrub mostly 1 m tall; 4 large stems in fenceline and 2 smaller stems in mown firebreak / roadbed, in well-drained reddish-brown neutral loamy fine sand (Delmita Series) on nearly level landscape of thin Holocene eolian sand atop gray sandstone of Goliad Formation.
