Habitat and Description: Occasional, one shrub on each of several pimple mounds composed of well-drained loose sand in otherwise clayey, seasonally wet coastal prairie pasture invaded by mesquite and huisache. Associates include Cenchrus spinifex, Chamaecrista spp., Croptilon sp., Croton capitatus, Diodia teres, Digitaria cognata, D. texana, Eragrostis secundiflora, Paspalum setaceum, Schizachyrium scoparium, Stillingia sylvatica, Trachypogon secundus, Xanthisma, texana.
