Habitat and Description: Locally common in deep loose sand on gently slope in cattle pasture on undulating landscape of sandhills and clayey flats underlain by Lissie Formation. Associates include Acalypha radians, Ambrosia psilostachya, Argythamnia pilosissima, Cenchrus spinifex, Chenopodium ambrosioides, Cnidoscolus texanus, Croton capitatus, C. parksii, Elyonurus tripsacoides, Eragrostis secundiflora, Eriogonum multiflorum, Eupatorium compositifolium, Froelichia gracilis, Gaillardia aestivalis, Helianthus debilis, Heterotheca subaxillaris, Indigo suffruticosa, Paspalum plicatulum, P. setaceum, Physalis cinerascens var. spathulifolia, Rhynchosia americana, Schizachyrium scoparium.
