Habitat and Description: Hard-packed stony soils. Grassy clearings in Quercus fusiformis-Junipersu ashei woodland w. Mahonia, Sophora, and Forestiera. Perennial from fleshy rootstock 1 cm thick. Stems 40-50 cm tall w. copious white latex, glaucous, reclining somewhat on grasses. Fls pale lavender. Colony of 70-80 plants in full sun.
