Habitat and Description: Tall shrub. Frequent in seasonally inundated clay soils along margin of resaca with fluctuating water level (not a reservoir). Associates include Ampleopsis arborea, Azolla caroliniana, Baccharis sp., Cynodon dactylon, Mikania scandens, and Phragmites communis.
