Habitat and Description: Large, flat open meadow in Pinus taeda forest. Very loose sandy soils. Schizachyrium dominant, with Cnidoscolus, Schrankia, Tradescantia, Vitis, Monarda, Froelichia, Yucca, Solanum, Sapindus, many Cyperaceae, and grasses. Ray flts dark red to orange. Disk flts dark purple-brown.
