Habitat and Description: Occasional shrub in medium-stature shrubland dominated by Bernardia myricifolia, Sophora secundiflora and Salvia azurea, in narrow band along top of SW-facing bluff of limestone and dolomite of the Fredericksburg Group (Cretaceous). Other woody associates include Juniperus ashei, Opuntia lindheimeri, O. leptocaulis, Yucca treculeana, Y. rupicola and Colubrina texensis.
