Habitat and Description: Occasional along margins of weed-infested coastal live oak-redbay woodland on deep well-drained sands of Pleistocene barrier island. Woody associates include Quercus virginiana, Persea borbonia, Melia azedarach, Leucaena leucocephala, Callicarpa americana, Ilex vomitoria, Vitis mustangensis, Baccharis neglecta, Erythrina herbacea, Celtis laevigata, Lonicera japonica, and Smilax bona-nox.
