Habitat and Description: Rare in heavy black sandy clay loam in seasonally wet depression in coastal prairie on otherwise lighter sandy soils on upland underlain by Goliad Formation. Associates include Acacia smallii, Aster subulatus, Cyperus haspan, C. virens, C. cf. pseudovegetus, Eleocharis quadrangulata, Euthamia pulverulenta, Ludwigia peploides, Marsilea sp., Panicum hains, Paspalum plicatulum, Polygonum hydropiperoides, Rotala ramosior, Sagittaria longiloba, and Setaria parviflora.
