Habitat and Description: Occasional in well drained sandy loam on small sparsely vegetated pimple mounds in coastal prairie on otherwise somewhat poorly drained soils. Associates include Aristida longespica, Cenchrus incertus, Chloris cucullata, Eragrostis secundiflora, Eragrostis sessilispica, Chamaecrista calycioides, C. fasciculata, Croton capitatus, C. glandulosus, Diodia teres, Polypremum procumbens, Rhynchosia americana, Richardia tricocca, Sida lindheimeri, Stylosanthes biflora, Zanthisma texanum, Zornia bracteata, and Zornia gemella.
