Habitat and Description: Rare in mid-successional coastal prairie midgrass grassland on sandy loam on top of undulaing landscape underlain by Goliad Formation. Associates include Acacia smallii, Croton capitatus, Elyonurus tripsacoides, Eragrostis secundiflora, Helenium amarum, Iva angustifolia, Matelea cynanchoides, Palafoxia sp., Paspalum plicatulum, Prosopis glandulosa, Schizachynum scoparium, Xanthisma texanum.
