Habitat and Description: Locally common in bluestem dominated openings in post oak-live oak woodland on deep loose sand on hummocky terrace of intermittent stream. Associates include Acalypha radians, Chamaecrista fasciculata, Chamaesyce tripsacoides, Eupatorium compositifolium, Gaillardia aestivalis, Galactia canescens, Heterotheca subaxillaris, Rhynchosia americana, Stillingia sylvatica, and Trachypogon secundus.
