Habitat and Description: Common in grazed coastal prairie on sandy soils over claypan, on very gently undulating upland landscape underlain by Lissie Formation. Principla associates include Paspalum plicatulum, Schizachyrium scoparium, Chamaecrista fasciculata, Helenium amarum, Elyonuris tripsacoides, Euthamia pulverulenta, and Iva angustifolia.
