Habitat and Description: Common in deep sand or loamy sand on level unshaded occasionally mown highway ROW in live oak savanna on S Texas Sand Sheet. Associates include Gaillardia pulchella, Phlox cuspidata, Allium sp., Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Castilleja indivisa, Lupinus subcarnosus, Lobelia berlandieri var. berlandieri, Brazoria arenaria, Phacelia patuliiflora, and Lesquerella grandiflora.
