Habitat and Description: Rare on Shield Ranch, under Berberis trifoliolata in grazed shortgrass opening among Quercus fusiformis and various shrubs on deeper clayey soils of valley flat between slopes of Devils River Limestone. Associates include Berberis trifoliolata, Diospyros texana, Prosopis glandulosa, Ambrosia confertiflora, Acourtia wrightii, Hermannia texana, Croton pottsii, and Bothriochloa ischaemum.
