Habitat and Description: Occasional in relatively sparse vegetation on light-colored tight fine sandy loam over claypan. On gentle slope and flat along intermittent stream draining sandy landscape of post oak woodlands and coastal prairies underlain by Goliad Formation. Associates include Aristida oligantha, Chloris sp., Ditaxis humilis, Dyssodia tenuiloba, Echinocactus texensis, Eragrostis curtipedicellata, E. secundiflora, Forelichia gracilis, Gossypianthus lanuginosus, Isocoma drummondii, Iva angustiflora, Mecardonia procumbens, Mollugo verticulata, Opuntia lindheimeri, Paronychia cf. setacea, Polypremum procumbens, Ruellia nudiflora, Sida ciliaris, Sporobolus pyramidatus, and Xanthisma texanum.
