Habitat and Description: Rare in relatively sparse vegetation on light-colored tight fine sandy loam over claypan. On gentle slope and flat along intermittent stream draining sandy landscape of post oak woodlands and coastal prairies underlain by Goliad Formation. Associates include Chloris sp., Dyssodia tenuiloba, Eragrostis curtipedicellata, E. secundiflora, Forelichia gracilis, Iva angustiflora, Mecardonia procumbens, Mollugo verticulata, Opuntia lindheimeri, Polypremum procumbens, Portulaca pilosa, P. umbraticola, Ruellia nudiflora, Schedonnardus paniculatus, Sida ciliaris, Sporobolus pyramidatus and Xanthisma texanum.
