Habitat and Description: Locally common in sandy loam along sendero through upland live oak-post oak woodland undulating landscape underlain by Goliad Formation. Woodland composed of Acacia rigidula, Berberis trifoliolata, Celtis reticulata, Condalia hookeri, Diospyros texana, Ehretia anacua, Ilex vomitoria, Opuntia lindheimeri, Quercus stellata, Q. virginiana, Zanthoxylum fagara, and Ziziphus obtusifolius.
