Habitat and Description: Rare, local in tight sandy loam in claypan savanna opening in post oak-live oak woodland on flats on upper part of floodplain of intermittent creek. Associates include Aristida longespica, A. oligantha, Bothriochloa laguroides, Boutheloua hirsuta, B. rigidiseta, Eragrostis secundiflora, Evolvulus sericeus, Fimbristylis perberula, Gomphrena nealleyi, Helenium amarum, Iva angustifolia, Krameria lanceolata, Opuntia lindheimeri, Paronychia cf. setacea, Portulaca umbraticola, Sida ciliaris, Sporobolus pyramidatus and Xanthisma texanum.
