Habitat and Description: Common in sparingly vegetated spots in claypan savanna vegatation dominated by Isocoma drummondii and Sporobolus pyramidatus, on slightly saline tight soil mapped as Orelia fine sandy loam. Associates include Aristida longespica, A. oligantha, Desmanthus virgatus, Echinocactus texensis, Grindelia oolepis, Iva angustifolia, Lycium carolinianum, Polygonum ramosissimum, Psilactis heterocarpa, Spartina spartinae, and Tridens congestus.
