Habitat and Description: Well-drained sandy stream terrace or ridge, openings and open woodland of mixed pine (longleaf, loblolly, shortleaf) and upland hardwoods (probably remant longleaf pine dry savanna). Codominant tree. 15-25 m. tall. 15-30 cm DBH. Bark reddish gray and platy.
