Habitat and Description: Mixed hardwood (laurel oak, white oak, water oak, magnolia, sweet gum)-loblolly pine forest and disturbance openings. Middle sandy terraces in some places incised by old channels and tributaries. To 4 m tall. Common at forest edge.
