Habitat and Description: Hard-packed stony soils. Grassy clearings in Quercus fusiformis-Juniperus ashei woodland w. Mahonia, Sophora, and Forestiera. Tufted erect perennial. Mostly shedding spikelets now. Bright golden yellow. Fairly common. Full Sun.
