Locality: United States, Texas, Pecos, W side of N-S stretch of main road on W side of Diamond Y Spring Preserve, ca. 500 ft. N of its crossing of Leon Creek, ca. 0.8 airmiles N of Diamond Y Spring, ca. 3.3-3.4 airmiles SW of N gate. Diamond Y Spring Quadrangle. Elev. 2780 - 2800 ft.

Habitat and Description: Occasional under shrubs in low to medium stature shrubland/shortgrass grassland on shallow, calcareous, moderately alkaline, light brownish gray, very gravelly loam (Lozier Series) on +/- level upland underlain by Cretaceous limestone of Washita Group. Associates include Acacia sp., Aristida purpurea, Boerhavia linearifolia, Bouteloua barbata, B. trifida, Chamaesyce acuta, Condalia ericoides, Croton dioicus, Cryptantha mexicana, Dalea formosa, Dalea wrightii, Dalea pogonathera, Dyssodia pentachaeta, Enneapogon desvauxii, Erioneuron pilosum, Gutierrezia sp., Hilaria mutica, Isocoma sp., Larrea tridentata, Lesquerella fendleri, Machaeranthera pinnatifida, Melampodium leucanthum, Parthenium incanum, Plantago helleri, Polygala macradenia, Portulaca pilosa, Prosopis glandulosa, Psilostrophe tagetoides, Tiquilia canescens, Tridens muticus, and Zinnia acerosa.
