Habitat and Description: Rare in high-quality coastal prairie remnant/hay meadow on essentially levle upland with faint mound and swale microtopography. On poorly drained slightly acid fine sandy loam Alfisols (Edna Series). Associates include Ambrosia psilostachya, Andropogon gerardi, Asclepias verticillata, A. viridis, Axonopus affinis, Boltonia sp., Bothriochloa exaristata, Buchnera americana, Cyperus haspan, Digitaria ciliaris, Diodia virginiana, Eryngium yucccifolium, Euthamia sp., Fimbristylis puberula, Gaura cf. filiformis, Helianthus angustifolius, Hydrolea ovata, Juncus brachycarpus, Leersia hexandra, Liatris acidota, Neptunia pubescens, Panicum hians, P. rigidulum, P. virgatum, Paspalidum germinatum, Paspalum floridanum, P. plicatulum, P. praecox, Rhexia cf. mariana, Rhynchospora corniculata, R. caduca, Rudbeckia nitida var. texana, Ruellia humilis var. depauperata, Schizachyrium scoparium, S. tenerum, Sesbania drummondii, Silphium gracile, Sorghum halepense, Sporobolus indicus, and Vernonia gigantea.
