Habitat and Description: Locally common in deep well drained acid fine sandy loam Paleustalfs in partial shade along mottes of Quercus fusiformis, Q. stellata, and Ulmus crassifolia. Associates include Acalypha radians, Chaetopappa asteroides, Callirhoe involucrata, Cidoscolus texanus, Diodia tricocca, Helianthemum sp., Lesquerella densiflora, Lotus purshianus, Myosotis macrosperma, Rumex hastatulus, Spermolepis echinata, and numerous generalists also found on nearby clay soils.
