Habitat and Description: Rare among shortgrasses, annual forbs and low perennials in open shrubland on very gravelly/stony clay soils on gentle limestone slope just above bottom of broad dry limestone canyon. Associates include Allium drummondii, Ammoselinum popei, Aphanostephus ramosissimus, Aristida purpurea, Condalia viridis, Croton dioicus, Cryptantha mexicana, Erioneuron pilosum, Evax verna, Guaiacum angustifolium, Hymenoxys odorata, Juniperus sp., Koeberlinia spinosa, Lepidium lasiocarpum, Nama hispidum, Opuntia lindheimeri, Plantago helleri, P. patagonica, R. rhodosperma, Prosopis glandulosa, Senna pumilio, Tetraclea coulteri, and Tiquilia canescens.
