Habitat and Description: Locally frequent on rock outcrops on accessible lower part of very steep W-facing rhyolite slope/bluff. Bluff shaded by oak-juniper woodland. Associates include Bouvardia ternifolia, Celtis reticulata, Clematis pitcheri, Croton fruticulosus, Juniperus deppeana, Maurandya antirrhiniflora, Opuntia imbricata, Philadelphus sp., Quercus gravesii, Quercus grisea, Rhus aromatica, Viguiera cordifolia.
