Habitat and Description: Occasional in gravelly well drained acid fine sandy loam Alfisols (Travis Series) in early successional grassland among post oaks. Herbaceous associates include Aphanostephus skirrhobasis, Dichanthelium sphaerocarpon var. sphaerocarpon, Gnaphalium spp., Matelea biflora, Plantago patagonica var. gnaphalioides, Selaginella riddelii, Spermolepis echinata, Zornia bracteata, and numerous generalists also common in nearby clay soils.
