Habitat and Description: Occasional in extremely shallow stony clay on open unshaded exposure of Austin Chalk on and along truck track at base of brushy slope representing Balcones Escarpment. Associates include Bouteloua curtipendula, B. trifida, Chloris verticillata, erioneuron pilosum, Leptochloa dubia, Nostoc sp., Oxalis drummonmdii, Panicum hallii, Portulaca pilosa, Sida abutifolia, Sporobolus cryptandrus, Talinus aurantiacum, and Urochloa fasciculata.
